Free Kindergarten Eye Exams - August 7, 2008
Because good vision is so crucial to sucess in school, Dr. DeRuyter feels every child should have at least one comprehensive eye exam before entering kindergarten. To help those students who may otherwise not be able to have an exam, our practice is offering FREE comprehensive eye and vision exams for students entering kindergarten this fall. In Iowa, schools are now requesting parents bring their soon-to-be kindergartener in for an eye exam. You should have received a green "Student Vision Card" at kindergarten round-up. Bring this card along to your child's exam and we will fill it out for you.

We now offer Retinal Photography!
Advanced Eye Health is proud to offer high-resolution retinal photography. Screening photos will be taken of all patients, while a more in-depth series of photos will be taken of patients with retinal or optic nerve problems. These photos allow Dr. DeRuyter to compare the appearance of your retina and optic nerve from year to year to help monitor for subtle changes. This is especially helpful in catching glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinal changes.
