Noah's Ark Preschool Visits
On January 27,2010, we were fortunate to be visited by two classes of preschool kids from Noah's Ark Preschool in Le Mars. Their field trip included a story about eye exams and wearing glasses, a tour of the office, and some hands-on learning about how we test children's eyes. The day was a lot of fun for the staff of Advanced Eye Health, and the kids really enjoyed it too!

Dr. DeRuyter Named "Young Optometrist of the Year" by the Iowa Optometric Association
We are proud to announce that at the Iowa Optometric Association's annual congress in Des Moines on March 27, 2010, Dr. Becky DeRuyter received the "Young Optometrist of the Year" award for outstanding service to her profession. She was fortunate to have many of her family members and office staff there to show support.

Iowa Optometric Association elects Dr. DeRuyter to the Board of Trustees
At the group's annual congress in Des Moines on March 26,2010, Dr. Becky DeRuyter was elected and sworn in as the newest member of the Iowa Optomteric Association's Board of Trustees. She has been a member of the association for 6 years, on the education committee for 4 years, and chairperson of the annual Okoboji education meeting for 1 year.

3rd Annual FREE Kindergarten exam day a great success.
On Tuesday, July 20, 2010, our office was kindergarten central. We enjoyed having 30 plus kids in for their pre-Kindergarten eye exam, many for their first eye exam EVER! Only one child was found to need glasses, and a few others that we will watch closely over the next year who may need glasses. Looking forward to next year - the kids are a lot of fun.
